The Hotel Martinez, Cannes’ most iconic hotel on the Boulevard de la Croisette, has embodied the glamour of the Côte d’Azur since 1929. Part of The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, it blends French elegance with the vibrant spirit of the Roaring Twenties. Renovated and reopened in 2018 under its original name, the hotel showcases Art Deco-inspired interiors designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon, featuring white lacquered furniture with soft touches of blue and yellow. Its 410 rooms and suites, some offering breathtaking sea views, reflect a Mediterranean dream with geometric lines and refined details. A Green Globe-certified luxury destination, Hôtel Martinez continues to reinvent itself as a timeless symbol of the French Riviera.

A new lighting design was needed to revamp the hotel’s elegance for the upcoming spring season with a fresh, glamorous nighttime look. The south, east, and west façades were to be enhanced with soft, evenly distributed lighting in both white and coloured tones, highlighting the building's architectural features while preserving its original character.

25 CAPITAL 600 fixtures in RGB+W 3000K configuration were installed at the base of the columns adorning the main façade, with wide optics in the lower modules and medium optics in the upper ones, to ensure a uniform wash of light across the entire surface. Each module is equipped with a visor to minimize glare and prevent unwanted side light spill. For the hotel's side façades, the more compact CAPITAL 300 fixtures were chosen to achieve the same lighting effect. To complete the scheme, PARADE L MC linear modules were mounted on the balconies, illuminating the upper floor of the palace in matching or contrasting tones.

Easily controlled via the DALI DT8 system, all fixtures were supplied in a custom RAL finish, carefully selected to match the building’s paint and seamlessly blend into the overall aesthetic. Additionally, given the installation’s proximity to the sea, all luminaires were treated with an extra anti-saline coating to enhance durability and withstand harsh environmental conditions.

This meticulously designed lighting scheme not only enhances the architectural beauty of the Martinez Hotel but also elevates the ambiance of the iconic Boulevard de la Croisette. By seamlessly integrating cutting-edge illumination with the hotel's historic elegance, the new layout creates a striking nighttime presence that enriches the charm and sophistication of this legendary waterfront promenade.
