Hydrogen, the most abundant element in the universe,
is a promising clean energy source, but it doesn't exist in pure form
naturally. Most hydrogen today is obtained via steam-methane reforming, which
has a significant carbon footprint. Green hydrogen, produced through
electrolysis powered by renewable energy, offers on the contrary a sustainable
alternative, but currently accounts a minimum percentage of the worldwide production.
Green hydrogen can store and transfer energy without harmful emissions, making
it crucial for decarbonizing difficult sectors like steel, cement, and maritime
transport, and contributing to a net-zero future.

The production, storage, and reconversion of green
hydrogen into electricity will become a game changer in the energy industry in
the coming years. As a result, pioneering research and development centers
focused on hydrogen-based technologies are emerging in the European energy
market. A new hydrogen transformation center, part of a large multinational
corporation, was recently inaugurated in Germany, marking a fundamental
milestone in this groundbreaking sector. The center includes chemical
laboratories, testing and analysis rooms, workshops, and various test
facilities.
To align with its commitment to sustainability, the
hydrogen transformation center has installed an eco-friendly LED system for
external lighting. 70 units of CAPITAL 100 MC in RGBW colour configuration were
used to highlight the vertical geometric patterns of the building’s façade with
dynamic white and coloured effects. Installed at the base of the flat, square
leaning pillars that define the façade, each Capital 100 MC has been fitted
with specially developed brackets, ensuring precise positioning and aiming.
Equipped with dynamic control via KNX connection, the fixtures have been
positioned close to the surface to illuminate the vertical bands without
spilling light onto the rest of the building. The products were delivered by
our preferred partner in Germany LightLife Gesellschaft für audiovisuelle
Erlebnisse mbH, lighting design and installation were entrusted to the German
company Planlight GmbH,
based in Endingen.
