Already established as a nationally renowned landmark, Uzbekistan's
Independence Monument was officially unveiled in the capital city of Tashkent
in 2021, marking the 30th anniversary of the nation's independence. Dubbed
'Stella,' a name resonating with both 'star' and 'statue' in Uzbek, the
monument embodies Uzbekistan's most cherished historical and cultural values.
Located in the heart of an expansive park meticulously designed to provide
a verdant, tranquil retreat for local families, the Independence Monument is
surrounded by lush gardens, an artificial lake, sporting amenities,
playgrounds, an amphitheatre, ornate fountains, as well as commercial and
recreational facilities, including artisanal shops.
The construction materials, transported from Turkey via 85 trucks and 14 planes, reflect the magnitude of the project. Executed in a mere 47 days by a workforce exceeding 1,000 individuals, the Independence monument pays homage to Uzbekistan's rich historical legacy. Employing advanced mapping technology and intricate relief sculptures, the monument narrates three distinct epochs of the country's history upon its exterior surface, with details referring to cultural, mathematics, and scientific milestones.
