Art, nature, and light

15.06.2022
The awaited Milan Design Week 2022 has been the artistic centrepiece of the bustling city for a whole week. Linked to the Salone del Mobile, the so-called Fuorisalone 2022 has offered thousands of creative events spread in different locations of Milan.

Based on the lighting design of FLUX CS, Tillandsia Wall Green Wave by Roberta Filippini and Paolo Michieli has transformed the Sottoportico Cortile d'Onore of the University of Milan into a green wave with the help of Griven’s lighting fixtures.
Influenced by biophilic design, revealing our inherent need to affiliate with nature in the modern built environment, the project of Roberta Filippini and Paolo Michieli has been one of the most inspirational installations of the 2022 edition of the Milan Design Week.

The thick net formed by thousands of tiny tillandsia plants woven together in a green living canvass created a suspended three-dimensional garden along the Renaissance portico of Milan university, blending architecture and nature into a new form of art. Tillandsia Wall Green Wave could restore a primeval contact with nature through a genuine embrace between different elements.

Conceived by Andrea Mazza of Flux CS, the lighting design of this artistic creation aimed at enhancing the deep connection between nature and architecture through a captivating contrast of warm and cool white shades. Our Jade, Jupiter, and Parade L had been chosen to deliver a refined flare to this unexpected composition in a discreet and elegant way. Congratulations to all the involved professionals for the success of this unique artwork.
