Open doors at GRIVENs

An important meeting was held in Castel Goffredo at the end of October between a professional Vietnamese delegation and the representatives of GRIVEN Italy. During a tourist trip to Europe, the Vietnamese delegation was welcomed here at our premises by our Sales Manager, Marcello Balzanelli, who delivered to the Vietnamese professionals basic information about the Italian lighting company.

Members of the urban development and project management of Hai Phong city, project chief supervisors, main contractor representatives, along with Griven’s authorized local supplier were friendly gathered in our show room, where topics regarding GRIVEN products, project references, customer service and technical support were introduced by Mr Balzanelli to an attentive audience.

Purpose of the meeting was the presentation of the company’s history, products and know-how to the professionals involved in the project named: “Construction of Main bridge, Approach bridge, Traffic and Architectural lighting system for Hoang Van Thu architectural bridge and other supporting systems” currently under development in the city of Hai Phong, Vietnam.

Located in northeastern Vietnam, the Hoang Van Thu Bridge will connect the centre of the port city of Haiphong with the North West suburb of Thuy Nguyen. With a span of 200 m, the project might not appear too strenuous, but the western approach runs through cleared former mangrove swamps, making things considerably more challenging than imagined.

Expected to be completed in Q3 2018, the construction of Hoang Van Thu Bridge involves a special traffic project construction with a length of more than 1,570m, passing through Tan Duong, Duong Quan and Hoa Dong communes (Thuy Nguyen district), Minh Khai ward (Hong Bang district) and May Toi Ward, Ngo Quyen District, Hai Phong City. The 33.5 m wide bridge shaped like a horizontal wing of a flying seagull will consist of four motor lanes, two mixed lanes and a pedestrian walkway, with two symmetrically shaped branches with a radius of 65m.

According to the Committee in charge of the project, Hoang Van Thu bridge is the starting point for remarkable investments in the construction of technical infrastructures, which aim at expanding the city to the North and gradually improving the new urban space development.
