China - Macau hosts Indian Film Academy Awards
Since their first edition in 2000, the Indian Film Academy awards have taken place in various cities, including London, Johannesburg, Dubai and Bangkok, with the mission to promote Indian cinema around the world. Rapidly growing as one of Asia's most popular cultural and tourist destinations, this year Macau has been chosen to host this prestigious celebration, owing also to its fame as the Asian Las Vegas.
GRIVEN had the honour of being represented at the Indian Film Academy awards ceremony, which took place on Saturday, 13th of June 2009, by its powerful single beam moving head projectors of the SPYKE 2000 series. The SPYKE 2000 moving heads were placed on both sides of the front stage, which was accurately enriched by a themed set design, to celebrate with a dazzling game of dynamic colourful beams the winning of the historical love movie “Jodhaa Akbar”, which swept the board awards scooping six prizes.
Designed for the heavy duty touring applications of the entertainment and architectural lighting industries with the added bonus of an IP44 protection rating, these newly fine tuned lighting fixtures were enthusiastically welcomed by the show lighting designers and choreographers of the Macau Indian Film Academy Awards, which could appreciate the beam sharpness and unparalleled powerful brightness of these single beam moving heads.
The motorized yoke of GRIVEN’s SPYKE 2000 provides full speed rotation of the head over 640° in the X axis and 230° in the Y axis with a 16 bit high resolution movement. The electronic adjustment of the beam aperture between 1° and 5° angles is performed by the electronic control of the lamp regulation inside the electro-shaped nickel-rhodium reflector. The accurate movement control complements with a superb 20 fps electronic strobe, electronic dimming and black out effects for an astounding dynamic performance. All functions, together with the lamp ON/OFF selection, the stand-by mode and the master/slave option, can be remotely controlled via standard DMX 512 signal protocol and the display readout gives clear visualization of each available option. A total of 13 DMX channels are required. The unit has been certified to an IP44 protection against environmental conditions and is therefore suitable for indoor and outdoor mounting (inverted use included), for an easy and comfortable installation set up on truss elements and live shows stages.
